Mission: Spoilt Settlers
Location: Texas, USA, Earth

Reaching the top of the bluffs she pulled the stallion to a stop and glanced over to Zoey. "Glad you could keep up." She teased her friend before looking out over the everything. Life was good when you're sitting atop a horse under the beam of a full moon. Closing her eyes, she let the moment flow though her with a slow deep breath.

"Yeah well, I was taking it easy on ya. Figured you needed a good relaxing ride." Zoey replied as she glanced over to her friend and took in the fact that she seemed to be loosing herself in the moment. Nudging Samson closer she spoke softly. "I'll be going back to the Station and joining you on the ship tomorrow."

Glancing over to Zoey with a raise of brows. "I'm not drunk enough for that kind of joking yet." A little smirk was given as she looked around once more and started back down the path. From here they would walk their horses on over to the campsite to cool them down before settling in.

Turning her horse to walk along with them Bree. "I'm not joking. After talking to your brother I decided this was best. I miss you, you need me. Your brothers thought this was a great idea, Dustin even did all the work to get me into Starfleet. He talked to some Admiral and made plans for me to be the ships new person to over see 10 forward. And don't try and stop me or give me any crap, it's happening so deal with it." Zoey said with a grin upon her face.

"I deal with enough crap at work, not really in the mood to deal with some tonight. You won't like it, and you won't get to see me there for a while. I'm on punishment and dealing with crap, literally, for the next three months. But I can't stop you." Bree replied as they made their way to the camp site. It had always been there favorite site, all of the kids loved hanging out at this spot. The hot springs always inviting, a tent set up more often then not... and once they became of legal age, a cooler stocked with beer was usually there when company was around. Something that Derrick had made sure had been well stocked. Even a campfire was already going.

"Really, you're going to be like that?" Zoey asked as she slipped down off her horse and started untacking him for the night. Taking a few minutes to brush him out before releasing him to let him roam for the night. Glancing to Bree as she did the same thing with her's. Both horses where trained well enough not to wonder off over night and to alert the girls if something was about.

"Sorry... I just... I dunno." Bree said with a slight shrug.

"You do know, you just don't want to talk about it. So... lets hop in instead of talk." Zoey said as she headed towards the springs, stripping as she did so.

"I like that idea." Bree said as she stripped out of her clothes, grabbing a couple beers, and slipped on into the water. Letting the warm freshness of the water flowing over her as she handed one of the beers to Zoey. Popping the tops of the cans they relaxed and simply enjoyed the night, the company and the drinks.

Eventually, she finished off the cookie she had been munching on before speaking. "Yanno..." Bree said after a bit as she grabbed them both yet another beer. "Maybe it would be nice having you there, but... like I said. I have three months of shit duty. I don't want to deal with anyone during that time. I don't want you to be bored during that time."

"No no no.... that's not how it's going to be." Zoey said with a grin as she grabbed a cookie of her own. "For the next three months of shit duty I'll agree to you staying home during days you work. But on days off, we will get out and do something together... I don't care if it's going to the holo-deck, going to the gym, or having a meal out. But you will get out of your quarters for a little bit."

Bree sighed and downed the beer she held in her hand before paddling over to the cooler to grab another one. "I don't know about that... I don't know about getting out in public like that. Holo-deck maybe... but the rest of the things.. I don't know. You just don't understand, that guy.... everyone on the ship knows I was doing that guy."

"So? woopty doo... you had sex. You got in trouble for it. Would you have changed anything? You had to have known you would get in trouble for it before you started the fling. Yet you did it anyways. Would you change anything, knowing what you know now, you would do anything different?" Zoey asked seriously.

"Naw, he was a good lay. And sleeping with him made life bearable for me and the others on the ship." Bree replied, that southern draw becoming stronger the more she drank and relaxed.

"Well then, what's the problem?" Zoey asked as she paddled over by Bree and took her beer from her. Setting it on the ledge she looked at her friend with a cant of her head.

"I hate shit duty?" Bree answered with a little smirk. Zoey couldn't help but to burst out laughing. Something that startled Bree... yet caused her to do the same thing. "Yanno, I've always hated shit duty."

"Hey, at least it's not six months like you had when we were kids." Zoey blurted out as she got out of the springs and grabbed a towel out of her bag.

"Six months shoveling horse shit is no were near as bad as three months dealing with shit on the ship." Bree pointed out.

"That may be, but you can handle it. You did when we were kids, you can do it now. And come on.. dealing with shit has to be better then confinement. You know that as well as I do." Zoey handed Bree the towel as she helped her out.

"Yeah, that's true. And... with you there, I'll have someone to vent to." Bree said with a slight nod of her head.

"You need to stop letting that woman get in your head." Zoey said as she moved to relax near the fire with Bree. "And I know I'm not the first person that has told ya that." She added.

"I've been trying not to, really I have. But she just... she pushes my buttons. I don't know what it is about me that she feels she has to focus all her attention on. But you would think she could spend more time with her husband and worry about him instead of what I'm up to." Bree said with a soft sigh as she leaned back against her pillow and looked up at the night sky. "Then again, maybe with me being down on shit level she'll forget about me for a while."

"Just do what you have to do down there, and I'll keep you out of trouble when you're off duty. Alright?" Zoey asked as she glanced over to Bree. A slight smile as she noticed her friend had passed out. Shifting slightly she pulled the extra sleeping back up over them and snuggled to sleep.
