Down in the depths of Starfleet Administration, a bright-eyed and optimistic Vice Admiral had an idea. While looking at a list of names of some of the brightest minds enlisted in Starfleet, he noticed a common theme: these officers earned top rankings in their classes but haven’t had the ability to promote to the high-level positions as they should have. Whether it was from old disciplinary actions or the lack of solid interpersonal skills or the inability to obtain the big name connections needed in order to receive the more high-profile assignments, the brilliant officers listed before him had all gotten lost in the cracks.

After pulling some strings, the Admiral secured the mothballed Galaxy-class USS Centaurus of Obsidian Fleet’s Task Force 47-C and began to set in motion his grand experiment.

The goal: give these misfit enlisted men and women the second chance they deserve to achieve grand success in Starfleet and discover what the galaxy has in store for them.

Under the command of Commander Alexia Nolan, the USS Centaurus is tasked with all the odd-job missions that Obisidan Command require of it. From exploration to first contact to colony support to ferrying people around the galaxy, the USS Centaurus is always called when there's work that no one else wants to do.

As famously said by the United States Government: WE WANT YOU!

The USS Centaurus is seeking a crew of open-minded, creative, and fun people to round out our ragtag team of writers and push our storytelling to the next level.

We are open to any and all applicants and characters (within reason) regardless of experience or skill level.

Hey Guys,

Just to apologise for the site issues we've been experiencing over the last few days.

This isn't the first time we've had this database issue with our current host - x10. In fact, this is the second time we've had a major disruption as a result of their mismanagement of their services.

However, it's virtually impossible to move our current site as-is to a new host without loosing everything we've accumulated thus far. All I can do is hope for no more disruptions.

Please do feel free to start logging again, as we begin our new plot at the end of this week!

We also welcome aboard our new Chief of Operations, Ensign Sara Dawson! Please make her feel welcome!

» End of Plot

Congratulations to all of you for helping us complete our first ever plot!!

I was a bit concerned that I'd alienated you all during the mission, but most of you stepped up and made yourselves part of the story.

Now is time for wrap-up and closure. We're on our way back to Starbase One, where we'll get rid of our naughty colonists who're still alive, and do any necessary repairs. Now is the time for much needed Character Development as well as interaction between yourselves! I'd love to see some JL's between our department heads as they get to know one another. We also need to help our new CSec feel welcome!!

As with the end of a plot, so comes recognition in the form of awards and promotions if applicable. To this end, I'd like to make the following mentions:

The Meritorious Newcomer Award goes to Ens. Remy DuBare, Ens. Day Smith & LtJG. Thomas Richardson for their excellent contributions to a plot they'd basically joined right in the middle of. They not only contributed, but they improved the richness of the plot with their contributions.

The Creativity Award goes to LtCmdr. Jael Steiger for her excellent addition of the 'Russian Renegades' in the rescue of the Centaurus. It was a creative input and added to the tapestry of the characters involved in our little drama.

The Captain's Personal Merit Award goes to Ens. Breanna Rathburn for being a very good sport about being taken full advantage of by our bad-guy, and playing it very well during the bridge takeover. It was nice that you were able to play along with the game, even knowing that it would have negative ramifications with the XO later.

Congratulations to our award winners!

» Centaurus takes the Gold!

Posted on Tue Sep 4th, 2018 @ 5:32pm by Commander Alexia Hunter-Nolan in Sim Announcement

Hey Guys!

We've had a fantastic first month of operation on Centaurus, and it has been officially recongised by Task Force 47 Command!

For our efforts in our very FIRST month of operation, we've been awarded the GOLD Unit of Merit Award!!

Gold: USS Centaurus: “This ship has hit the ground running. A new CO at the helm. The new Commander has not only recruited enough players to have his ship be operational when released from Shakedown but has also blown though the Academy with flying colors. With all of this, starting a ship and getting through Command Academy the crew of the USS Centaurus also managed a whopping 4.8 posts per person! Great job!!” (Captain Nn’khiy Solius, TGCO, TG47-C)

I couldn't have done any of it without all your hard work and support. Even those of you who haven't done very much in the way of posting yet, have still contributed to our success! Apparently, getting a Gold UoM in your first month of operation doesn't happen every day, so that just goes to prove what I've always believed - we're the very best!!

I want to do a massive shout-out to Jael for bullying all of you into logging with her. She's the coal the powers the engine!

Well Done all of you!! You deserve this!!

USS Centaurus

Mission: Spoilt Settlers

Sara waited at the XO's office. She was going to report in at exactly 0901 hours. It would annoy the captain if she payed that much attention to details. Besides, she had work to do and this was irritating. For one thing, she was going to get this ship's crew…

She prepared a spear in the current of a nearby river, close to the penal colony and she threw it. Pulling out a fish, Sara returned to her camp. The arrangement she had with warden was simple. She did not leave the island, she wore some tracker bracelet, and she…

The lab was alight with metrics that they had captured through their trip to the colony. It wasn't anything new, but it was always good to get new data in. Day was happily tapping away at some calculations and made note of some adjustments that needed to be made to…

Coming back to work after such an enjoyable holiday was always a drag. It was also incredibly difficult to get your mind back into it properly. Fortunately, being in spacedock, there wasn't a huge amount that needed to be done aboard ship. However, there were a series of personnel…

Mission: Spoilt Settlers
Posted on Wed Dec 5th, 2018 @ 5:29am by Lieutenant JG T'Shan & Ensign Day Smith

T'Shan had not yet had a chance to see much of the ship, having spent her time at her desk filing reports and approving staffing numbers, sensor sweeps and emergency response drills. One duty she noted had been left undone, the protocols requiring regular testing of former Borg officers to…
